Wheelchair Skills

Wheelchair Dancer wows them in Florida by going down 25 steps backwards.

Steeeve is riding escalators.

I’m doing five miles (on the flat) in less than an hour.

Steeeve (get a blog, man!) provided a link to the University of Dalhousie’s Dalhousie University’s Wheelchair Skills Program’s video page. Some of the clips are super basic, many use non-disabled people. It was interesting to learn that some of the stuff I do in everyday life has a name: drag turn, push-off turn. I’m going to do that escalator thing next.

That’s pretty cool! As a native of Halifax, NS, though, I must point out that it’s called “Dalhousie University”, not ever “University of Dalhousie” (and it’s pronounced “Dal-HOW-zee”). Now that I think about it, every other member of my family went there, actually. :)

    That can be fixed.

Just promise me you’ll use a spotter the first time you try that particular trick!
