I’m doing five miles (on the flat) in less than an hour.
Steeeve (get a blog, man!) provided a link to
the University of Dalhousie’s Dalhousie University’s Wheelchair Skills Program’s video page. Some of the clips are super basic, many use non-disabled people. It was interesting to learn that some of the stuff I do in everyday life has a name: drag turn, push-off turn. I’m going to do that escalator thing next.
That’s pretty cool! As a native of Halifax, NS, though, I must point out that it’s called “Dalhousie University”, not ever “University of Dalhousie” (and it’s pronounced “Dal-HOW-zee”). Now that I think about it, every other member of my family went there, actually. :)
That can be fixed.
Just promise me you’ll use a spotter the first time you try that particular trick!
