It’s been a very busy couple of weeks.

My software project just finished FQT. It was scheduled to last 5 days. We’ve been doing dry runs of test procedures for the past 4 months. We had one last minute bug fix (literally last minute – 8:30 am Friday, with FQT beginning Monday).

We lost Day 1 re-releasing the software. On Day 2 the airconditioning in the building went out. By Day 4, the temperature in the lab was in the high 80s. Day 5, FPGAs in our test set started behaving badly. We took Days 6-8 off, in order to let equipment cool off, and brought in big fans (92 degrees in the lab on Day 7!). Day 9 the airconditioning was fixed, but it was another two days before the lab temperature got below 80. Finished on Day 10, with 46 minor defects.

In the meantime, it’s 3 days till the big bang. We’re going to watch it from the auditorium at work, but the Fiske Planetarium at CU will be open to the public from 11:00 pm till 1:00 am.
