And the Living is Easy

Still working on the wireless problem – I’ve moved everything pretty much back to where it was and upgraded the firmware on the wireless access point, and now I’m worse off than before – the computer has trouble even finding my access point. I did get a really long Ethernet cable, though, so that’s easing my pain.

I fixed the Movable Type problem. If you specify your CGIPath in mt.cfg using www (ie, http://www.brokenclay.org/mt/), then you have to use that URL if you don’t want to re-authenticate once. I changed the path in mt.cfg to http://brokenclay.org/mt/, and now it’s all happy.

Everyone in the family went to the golf course last night to watch the fireworks. Frisbee was played, and the air was thick with DEET. A good time was had by all (despite the small band of loudmouth teenagers that took up residence right next to us as the show began – I’m getting old and cranky).

It’s been in the high 90s all week, and I’m so glad I live in a semi-arid climate. Next week I’m going back to my home town, near Washington, DC, and am not looking forward to high 90s plus killer humidity. I’m planning to be outside a lot on this trip, and I’m using the denial method to deal with it. I don’t want to have to worry about how to stay cool and rested, I just want to be a regular person and party on like everyone else.
