One of the bizarre things about MS is the variability. Some mornings I wake up, push the covers off, scoot over to the side of the bed, pop into the wheelchair (no problem!) and head off to the bathroom.
Some mornings I wake up, push the covers off, try to sit up, collapse back onto the bed with an oof! (you think this would be a warning), try to sit up a few more times, scoot over the side of the bed, and fall face first onto the floor (dang, missed the wheelchair).
That would be this morning. I’ve got to get a transfer board.
On the falling subject, Martin Bruch, an Austrian gentleman who has MS and apparently inexplicably enjoys falling down, has published a book called Bruchlandungen (Crash Landings, a pun on his name), which records photographically the view after 307 falls.
