I went to work in the morning. I got home about 2 pm and took a nap. Unfortunately we’re having a sudden hot snap – two weeks ago it was snowing, yesterday it was 95 degF, and nobody’s ready for it. My bedroom is the hottest room in the house, and when I woke up at 5 I was dripping. I went to take a shower, and managed to fall trying to get into the tub. My husband rescued me, I took my (cool) shower, and then, like an idiot, blow-dryed (blew-dry?) my hair, getting myself all hot again.
I ate some cereal for dinner (yeah, yeah, I know), and my friend came to pick me up. By the time I got to the concert I felt like I had run a marathon – not the relaxed self I had been hoping to be. Luckily there’s a nice couch at the church we were using; I napped on the couch for an hour while everyone else was warming up and doing staging and stuff.
This was a fairly low effort concert for the choir – two pieces for choir, orchestra and soloists, 3 Mozart sonatas for the orchestra. We sang our first piece, filed off, and I laid down on the couch again through the Mozart, then we sang our second piece and that was it. So I felt better after the concert than I did before. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing.

Cereal for dinner used to be one my favorite things!
