History of Heaven

From the new choir (and I had nothing to do with the wheelchair access bit at the end):

A HISTORY OF HEAVEN – A Journey to Paradise with the Angelic Voices of ASTER Women’s Chamber Choir, March 19th & 20th, 2004

For the final concert of its fourth season, ASTER Women’s Chamber Choir explores the journey to Heaven and the promise of Paradise. ASTER founder and artistic director Dr. Christina Lynn-Craig’s program is intended to provide glimpses of Heaven as portrayed throughout the centuries, from the music of medieval mystics to African-American slaves. “A HISTORY OF HEAVEN” will be presented Friday, March 19, 7:30 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Boulder and Saturday, March 20, 7:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Comforter, Broomfield. The concerts are free and open to the public, donations are gratefully accepted. For further information please contact Tina Lynn-Craig, Artistic Director, Tinaregina@aol.com, (303)-466-2879

Trinity Lutheran Church is located on the Northeast corner of Broadway and Pine, Boulder. Free parking is available in the lot north of the church. The Church of the Holy Comforter, Broomfield, is located at 1700 West 10th Avenue, at the Southeast corner of 10th and Highway 287. Free parking is available in back of the church. (Directions to Holy Comforter: from Highway 36, take the 287/Jefferson County Airport exit, go north on 287, then right at 10th.) Both churches offer fine acoustics and wheelchair access.

I’m marking my calendar. This looks like a fine way to celebrate Spring (in concept, if not in actual weather here on the Front Range).

What’s so funny about this is that there’s a member of our women’s group who kvetches to NO end about the fact that I wear black. Black is simple; it always matches; you never have to fuss about what color underwear to put on. And I can pack for a two week trip in the dark — useful for those of us who put it off to the last moment. Anyway… I wear black. Except tonight, when we’re up to our hoo-hahs with Chili-Bingo, and I figured the group could use a little comic relief. So I pulled out a scarlet sweater and, I tell you, Mary and a lot of the group went bananas! All this to say that: I’ll be the one who looks like she got dressed in the dark ;-)

We’re going to meet IRL? Do we need to make some sort of preparations (like for a nuclear holocaust, or the Rapture, or something)? Will you wear a red carnation?

Ha – I wore a grey top with my black skirt yesterday, and they got all excited at work because I was branching out into a color.
